For those of you who know me know dat I hate to use foundation! I am a BB cream/transuclent powder kind of girl and I was very much into my Chanel Les Beiges products. Chanel Les Beiges is stil a fave of my but not during the hotter days. Since my skin is combination (with a very oily T-zone) the Chanel Les Beiges can become to much for my skin. Les Beiges is shiny (healthy glow) and I don’t need to tell you that shine in combination with oil becomes something that I don’t like to see in the mirror.
I had a wedding a few weeks ago and my makeup artist did such a great job. She introduced me to the Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless Powder Foundation in shade 6,5 (43,50/11 gr). At first I didn’t want to give in because you can already guess it, I didn’t want to spend my money on foundation. But since it looked so damn natural on her skin I had to give it a try and get out of my comfort zone. I don’t have alot of dark spots on my skin, that means that I just need to use a little bit of this powder preferably in combination with a fluffy powder brush because the sponge picks up too much of the product. Now I am raving about this product, as you can see never say never!
This creamy, cashmere-like powder delivers a buffed, polished finish and lasting wear in a convenient compact. Available in 20 true-to-skin shades.
This oil free Bobbi Brown Skin Weightless Foundation is housed in the typical Bobbi Brown sleek and minimal black case with a push button to open it. The powder also comes with a white sponge and a full lenght mirror. I don’t use the sponge that often. I prefer my powder brush to apply the product. I only reach for the sponge when I want to cover a pimple. This powder foundation with yellow undertones is made for anyone with combination to oily skin and provides a very natural coverage. If your skin is in good condition (no acne marks, no pigmentation or just a little bit) you just need a dab of this product because too much will give you that cakey face effect and a cakey face is a big no go especially during the summer months. If you want more coverage you can always build it up or use the sponge. I need to point out that the coverage is medium not full! I can still see my skin trough it. You need to see it as a filter, it makes your skin look very nice but natural.
De texture is very nice! finely milled with a creamy touch, it feels like velvet. I like the fact that it doesn’t look powdery on my face. I use it on top of my daycream because I don’t use a liquid foundation. For some of you it will function as a touch up powder but that is no problem since it is so natural and weightless it will look good in combination with your foundation. It does keep away the shine from my T-zone but not during the whole day. I guess that I need to touch up after four max five hours. I took some pictures and it photographs very nice. No flashback or something like that.
Overall it makes my skintone more even and healhy and I like it for the summer months because it doen’t contain the amount of glow like the Les Beiges does. It might look light in the pan but perfect on my skin.
One downside: It cracks very fast, mine has already cracked, that was a big dissapointment.
