Oh Dyptique you did it again! Thanks to my friend and beauty expert Melvin Balvers from The Beauty Insider (Amazing blog!) I finally got my hands on this beautiful limited edition rose scented candle. I never have enough of Diptyque, it is such a chic brand, the candles smell amazing (personal preferences) and the elegant handmade containers are to die for – oval labels with black lettering and a wick made of cotton. Am I acting way too overexited now? Oke I know that they are expensive but for me they are worth every penny.
Rosafolia is a limited edition spring candle. It comes in a beautiful white jar with a rose design (pink and green). The limited edition jars are nice but I prefer the signature jars with the white oval stickers because they fit perfectly in my interior and I always prefer white or basic candles over the colorful ones. Rosafolia is somehow greenish with a hint of rose. I like the fragrance it is not overbearing and it doesn’t smell too much like rose. The fragrance reminds me so much of a lovely summer day or a brunch in a beautiful garden. When the weather gets colder I prefer spicier candles like Vanille or Pomander , the spicy fragrances help to create a cozy ambiance at home.
Diptyque candles never smell chemical because the ingredients are from natural origin and pricier than other mass market candles. I get a headache very quick that is why the fragrance type is very important for me. I will never waste my money on a chemical fragranced candle anymore why should I? this one is so aromatic, I will never find a better one in the mass market range. The wax might be a deal breaker for some of you since it is a vegetable/paraffin wax mix. When you pay €45 for a candle you don’t expect it to be parrafin based since paraffin is cheaper and can be toxic. Diptyque claims that the candles are made from high quality wax so lets hope that they are pure and save.
The standard candle has a burning time of aprox 60 hours (€45- limited editions are more expensive). I don’t burn my candles everyday and I never burn them too long. Remember to trim the wick to avoid the black smoke marks on the beautiful jars. They last a very long time. My last one (Vanille) lasted for eight months but since it is a very spicy fragrance I haven’t burned it during the summer months.
You can’t go wrong with a Diptyque candle! Diptyque candles are available at Skins Cosmetics – online and in store.
