SU-MAN SKINCARE

SU-MAN SKINCARE

I discovered Su-Man trough the fabulous Net a Porter and it was also featured on the Caroline Hirons channel on youtube. I always check in on the Net a Porter app on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays to see whats new in ‘Net a Porter land’. The pretty white simple but beautiful packaging from Su-Man grabbed my attention and I started wondering what the brand is all about. On her website Su-Man Skincare is described as:

Su-Man Skincare is a highly effective premium skincare system that combines ancient Chinese skincare values with modern cosmetics science. Designed to be “effortlessly powerful” products are delivered to the skin by unique simple massage techniques taken from Su-Man’s legendary Skin Reborn Sculpting Facial

I was very pleased to receive the Essential Discover Collection (€60). I prefer 30ml sizes because I just have to much to get trough and it seems like a never ending story. Too bad for me natural products have a very short shelf life so it is much better for me to buy 30 ml sizes if possible.

The Su-Man skincare line is truly amazing! Lets start with the Exfoliating Facial Polish. This one is my favourite. It is such a wonderful product to brighten and buff the skin and the coffee frangrance is amazing! It is like putting espresso on your skin. Coffee might not be my favourite bevergage but I love this scrub and I will certainly will be repurchasing this facial polish. The key ingredient are:

  • Camu Camu

a red cherry like fruit native to South America with a extraordinary high amount of vitamine C. Helps to smooth fine lines, protect against free radicals, promote firmness and brighten skin tone.

I prefer to use the Exfoliating Facial Polish before masking or in the mornings because it really improves my skintone, buffs away dead skincells and it gives me a wonderful glow.

  • Coffee

caffeine has powerful skincare benefits including anti-inflammatory and firming properties. Coffee smooths skin, reduces redness, puffiness and dark circles.

  • Dragon’s blood extract

This sap has anti-agening properties and has been known as a healing skintreatment for ages. It reconstructs collagen and also has the ability to restore firmness and elasticity to the skin.

The exfoliating polish might feel a little bit harsh on your skin because of the coffee grounds but it is still worth it. If you have oily or combination skin Su Man doesn’t recommend this as a every day exfoliator since it contains oils. I use it once max twice a week on dry skin and it works very good for me. The product is pretty amazing and works very well. I would highly recommend it!

The Purifying Cleansing Gel- Oil is lovely! I love it because I don’t have to combine it with a facial cloth or muslin cloth. I massage it in on dry skin and rinse thoroughly with warm water. I don’t like to remove my make-up with this, even when it says that it will dissolve all traces of make-up and grime because I believe that make-up can be removed with a cheaper alternative. Why use such an expensive cleanser to remove make-up? I wouldn’t if I were you! I use this as my second cleanse in the evening and as my first and only cleanse in the morning. The key ingredients are:

  • Wintergreen

This miracle ingredient has anti-inflammatory properties, and has been used traditionally by Native Americans to treat a variety of medical and skin conditions. It is very effective in soothing and softening skin, and reducing the appearance of pores.

  • Rose hip seed oil

Miranda Kerr’s favourite product has regenerative and anti-ageing properties. A dry oil rich in vitamins and essential fatty acids, it promotes skin repair and smoothes wrinkles, without any greasy residue.

  • Dragon’s blood extract

I can’t tell you alot about the Velvet Skin Brightening Serum because I haven’t used it constantly to make a honest comment about the results. My first impression is good but I promise to dedicate a blogpost to this serum very soon. The key ingredients are dragon’s blood extract and tranexamic acid. Tranexamic acid is known as a synthetic derivative of the amino acid lysine. Originally developed for medical use, its anti-inflammatory and lightening properties were soon recognised as beneficial to cosmetics. It is effective in evening and brightening the skin tone by reducing pigmentation, age spots, acne scars and marks caused by sun exposure.

I think that I will reach for this one during the colder months when I am in need of serums and oils and want to recover from the sundamage.

I like the brand and have I told you that the packaging is very hygienic, the product will not be exposed to sunlight due to the opaque tube.
