A week ago I visited Valencia (Spain) and I had a wonderful time. Offcourse I had to bring some beautyproducts home (I nearly got a heartattact when the customs demanded me to throw them away …) and they got home save thank god! I found three Caudalie products that I wanted to try out. On instagram I follow many beauty/skincare bloggers and most of them are raving about their Caudalie products. I wanted to see for my self if they are worth the ‘splurge’. Lets move on to a short review of the products.
Caudalie Skincare is a French brand founded in 1993 in Bordeaux France by Mathilde Thomas and her husband. Caudalie started with two facecreams and nutritional supplements based on grape-seed Poluphenols. In the meantime, numerous scientific publications and prestigious researchers have confirmed the anti-ageing efficacy of Resveratrol.
Vine Resveratrol is an anti-ageing revolution that naturally intensifies the firmness and youthfulness of the skin. No other molecule has been cited in as many scientific publications and fueled as much hope for health, notably in the field of cell degeneration.
Caudalie is natural, parabenfree since 2006 and made for al skintypes. The brand is huge now and sold nearly everywhere. The grape essences come straight from her vinyard in Bordeaux.
1. Fleur de Vigne® French-milled Soap (150gr/€6-€10)
This soap has a very gentle plant-based formula enriched with grape oil and shea butter to leave the skin moisturized and delicately fragranced with Fleur de Vigne.
I love soap bars formulated without Sodium Laureth Sulfate. This ingredient will strip water out of the skin and makes it feel tight. Do you get it now? why washing your face with a regular soapbar gives you that tight feeling? This soap lathers very well in combination with my Foreo Luna (review on its way) and it doesn’t strip the oils and water out of my skin it is super creamy. My skin feels moisturised and healthy instead of dry and tight. Caudalie Fleur de Vigne French-milled Soap is fragranced with Caudalie’s signature scent and I love it! I really love the fragrance, not overwhelming just perfect.
I love to use this soap when I want to do a quick cleanse. I love the double cleansing method but sometimes I just don’t have any time left for the whole cleansing ritual. This soap removes dirt and makeup in a heartbeat, rinses of easily and make me follow up immediately with my toner. I can’t find it in Holland yet but I will repurchase it when I am in Spain or France because its gentle, free from Sodium Laureth Sulfate and other harmfull ingredients and it does a very nice job.
2. Caudalie Organic Grape Water (75ml/€6,20)
100% organic Grape Water: extracted straight from the grapes during the grape harvest, this mist refreshes, tones and moisturizes the skin at any time of the day. For all skin types, even the most sensitive, Organic Grape Water refreshes whenever you need it.
After using the P50 toner I reach for this hydrating mist! This is more that just plain water, it is hydrating and it smells divine! Wonderful to sooth and calm my skin after using an acid toner. It also helps to absorb heavier products like the faceoils that I am always applying afterwards. Try and see! It carries a grape frangrace which I love and makes my skin look plump. The can comes in two sizes 75 ml & 200ml, perfect for frequent travellers, to refresh your face during the day and for everyone else who loves a good cheap hydrating mist. I reach for this one more often then the Beauty Elixir -PS the spritzing nozzle is very good! Will repurchase!
3. Caudalie Beauty Elixir (30ml/€15,70-100ml/€35,20)
Inspired by Queen Isabelle of Hungary’s elixir of youth, this powerful plant based anti-dull complexion treatment smooths away fine lines, tightens pores and gives the complexion an instant boost of radiance. A Caudalie cult product favoured by make-up artists, beauty addicts and celebrities, the elixir also works wonderfully to help set make-up.
This one needs to be shaken up before use because it contains several oils like Peppermint and Rosemary Leaf oil. I don’t know what to think about this one. Yes it is a good mist for a quick pick me up or a quick wake me up because it smells like Peppermint but since my face is combination with a very oily T-zone I don’t know if it does more harm than good when I use it after applying my make-up. My face turns a little bit greasy and I don’t like that!
The second ingredient is alcohol… not a big fan of alcohol since it is very drying. I will update soon because I haven’t used it alot.
If you want to know more about my Caudalie experience don’t hesitate to ask!
It is a nice brand with some good ingredients but I don’t consider it my HG brand its good but nothing special.
You can buy Caudalie at Feelunique.com or at a Pharmacy.
