I love me some ILIA, this brand keeps surprising me. Here you can read my review about the ‘Crimson & Clover’ lipstick which I still love. This illuminator by ILIA in ‘Cosmic Dancer’ (€34/5gr) is gold toned. I prefer gold toned illuminators because they pair beautifully with my dark skin with yellow undertones. Beware of frosty looking illuminators, those are not the most flattering. We are not talking about a typical illuminator/highlighter, but we are talking about ILIA here. This illuminator combines organic ingredients, with healing properties of Rose Hip Oil to highlight my best features. The beautiful packaging is made from recycled aluminium and the product itself comes in a stick form.
I swipe the creamy stick over my cheekbones, brow bones, inner corner of the eyes and bridge of the nose for a dewy glow and blend it out with my fingers. Even if I wouldn’t blend it out it still looks natural. This illuminator is buildable and gives the most beautiful sheen without looking to glittery like a discobal. I can’t imagine that any of you would want to look like that. If you are looking for a heavy highlight then I guess that you will have to skip this one since it looks more like a translucent glow with a gold finish but still noticeable. I think that this illuminatior will work universally on every skintone. It lasted a good six to seven hours on my skin, when it fades away you can always re-apply.
Overall I am having a hard time finding downsides. My skin looks very healthy, the finish is beautiful, the stick is very portable which makes it perfect for travelling and the ingredients are amazing! I am so happy that we can choose between organic make-up and non organic make-up and it is obvious that organic make-up brands are not inferior to non organic make-up brands.
Will I repurchase? Yes! I like everything about this illuminator. If I am correct this product is a limited edition but you can stil find it at Amazingy – Natural & Organic Cosmetics .
